The WGP 71 already has a date and venue. On July 9th, the Mauro Pinheiro gym in São Paulo will host another edition of WGP Kickboxing with a card that promises to break everything.
In the Main Event of the night, there will be a title fight in the Super Middleweight division (78.1kg). The current champion Jonas Salsicha defends his title against the number 1 contender and champion of the All Star GP Super Middleweights - season 2023, Gustavo Jones. This will be their rematch, as they faced off in the semifinals of the All Star GP, which did not put the linear title on the line. At that time, the challenger came out on top in a very competitive fight, but Salsicha comes strong to avenge the loss and maintain his position.
The Co-Main Event features a Challenger GP in the Super Lightweight division that will determine the next opponent for the current champion Tomas 'Chacal' Aguirre. Four of the best athletes in the division will face each other in a semifinal and final on the same night. On one side, the Brazilians Paulo Tebar (#1) and Vinicius Mestinier (#4) will compete in one semifinal. On the other side of the bracket, the Argentine Ignacio 'El fino' (#2) and the Brazilian Diego Piovesan (#3) will step into the ring for a spot in the final.
