WGP Kickboxing lands for the first time in Cuiabá with title fight and Challenger GP
The event takes place on June 15, marking the organization's debut in the capital of Mato Grosso; Ivan Galaz and Matheus Nogueira compete for the Cruiserweight title and the Challenger GP for the Welterweights also heats up the card.
The WGP Kickboxing is ready to find a new home. On June 15, the organization will land with its edition number 76 in the city of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, for the first time. And the debut in the state capital will be in grand style with breathtaking attractions on the card. In the main event of the night, Brazilian Matheus Nogueira faces Chilean Ivan Galaz for the vacant Cruiserweight title (up to 85.1kg) since the departure of former champion Cesinha Almeida to the UFC.
The event will also introduce the next challenger for the Welterweight title (up to 71.8kg) with the Challenger GP of the division. In the first semifinal, Brazilian André Martins faces Argentine Fernando Amaya, while on the other side, compatriots Jones Coliseu and Dioginis Overeem duel for the second spot in the final that will take place on the same night. The event, which occurs at the Ginásio Poliesportivo São Gonçalo, also features 11 other fights, highlighted by a female bout between Brazilian Suellen Bittencourt and Chilean Maqui ‘Maquinita’ Orellana, in the women's flyweight division (up to 52kg).
