WGP 82

The biggest kickboxing event in Latin America returns to stir up the city of São Paulo on November 16 with an edition that promises to go down in the sport’s history. WGP 82 will take place at the Mané Garrincha Sports Center and marks the return of the All-Star GP, a tournament that brings together the top names in the category in an electrifying knockout format. This time, the spotlight is on the Super-Lightweight division (up to 64.5kg), which gets an unprecedented and expanded version of the GP: there will be 16 athletes in the competition, twice as many as in the previous edition, all fighting for the trophy. All fights in the opening phase, the round of 16, will be held in a single night during WGP 82, guaranteeing eight high-level matchups and promising plenty of excitement for the audience present. The event will be broadcast live on Canal Combate, and soon we will learn the athletes taking part in the GP, the bracket, and the rest of the full card.

The event will be held with the support of the São Paulo City Hall, through the city’s Department of Sports and Leisure, which has been a great ally in supporting and encouraging sports and martial arts in the capital. Therefore, admission will be free upon the donation of 1kg of non-perishable food, which will be collected at the arena entrance and donated to charitable institutions in the region. 

WGP Kickboxing is the largest professional event of its kind in Latin America. Created in 2011, it has already held more than 80 editions in several cities in Brazil and around the world, with the endorsement of the Brazilian Kickboxing Confederation (CBKB) and WAKO PRO. The event brings together the continent’s best athletes in contests that follow the highest technical and organizational standards.
